Pyramind started a Twitch channel and I got to be a guest on their first stream playing GoldenEye 007 for N64. Here's the stream from April 19th.
It was fun getting to play this awesome game from my childhood. We were all a little rusty, but we got by with a little practice and much aimless wandering. If you're on Twitch, be sure to check it out and follow Pyramind_TV
WeeklyBeats is back for 2018 and I'm participating for the third time now. Instead of the electronic based tracks I've produced in previous years, I'll be focusing on cinematic/production tracks with Logic (Reason was my DAW of choice for 2014 and 2016).
The first quarter of 2018 is done and I have 13 new tracks posted. I'll be posting these tracks to Bandcamp eventually, but for now, they can be streamed here: weeklybeats.com/r2me2
The Pyramind Mentorship Network is shifting to a new calendar system for booking lessons and training (formerly on Setmore). You can find my calendar under the Lessons section of this website and here:
The new system looks like this:
Now that I've created a few breakdown videos on the Pyramind Youtube channel, I'm now releasing the mock ups made for each video through Splice.
Here's the first release for the Walking Dead Theme
In time for the Season 8 premiere, this breakdown looks at harmony, texture, and instrumentation of the Walking Dead Theme composed by Bear McCreary.
In this tip, I look at the composition techniques used in "Paranoid Android" and how they relate to Radiohead's writing process.
A documentary was made about the death metal band I played guitar in - Antagony. The video was posted to Youtube and announced on Metal Injection.
In DAW's like Pro Tools and Logic Pro X, the value of a note is typically represented in ticks. This chart shows the relationship between common note values and their measurement in ticks. Sometimes you'll need this information when making fine/precise edits or answering questions on certification exams.
For this video tutorial, I give a breakdown of some of the interesting techniques used in Hozier's "Take Me To Church."
I recorded more video tutorials for Pyramind, one about the Logic Pro X 10.3 update and one about polyrhythm.
