In time for the Season 8 premiere, this breakdown looks at harmony, texture, and instrumentation of the Walking Dead Theme composed by Bear McCreary. In this tip, I look at the composition techniques used in "Paranoid Android" and how they relate to Radiohead's writing process. For this video tutorial, I give a breakdown of some of the interesting techniques used in Hozier's "Take Me To Church." I recorded more video tutorials for Pyramind, one about the Logic Pro X 10.3 update and one about polyrhythm. I recorded another music theory tutorial going into various ways to use the circle of fifths. Recently, I recorded a music theory video tip at Pyramind. The material was fun to explore and I plan on doing more like this. The other Pyramind instructors have been creating tips covering a wide range of music production topics - they can be found here. |
